Adrenal and Thyroid Testing

The Hormonal System (Endocrine System) is a complex system that works best when all its players are synchronized with each other. Two glands that make important hormones are the adrenals and the thyroid.

While current medical tests can detect only severe depletions in the adrenal glands, more delicate tests can identify earlier stages of adrenal fatigue. The adrenal glands make dozens of different hormones and a comprehensive evaluation would look at both the amount and the balance between these different hormones. Many undiagnosed cases of fatigue, new onset anxiety and overall poor health are the result of imbalances in the adrenal glands. At Scottsdale Harmonia, we look at these tests to get a good idea on what the adrenal glands are doing. Dr. Alexander has a personal interest in Adrenal Problems and has lectured to physicians at the Bio-Identical Hormone Society and the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine on Adrenal Gland disorders.

Thyroid problems can also be treated in a more integrative manner looking at causes that precipitate these conditions, rather than only treating the deficiencies.
